Single-user configuration
1. First, you need to do a backup copy in a safe place of the database file located on your old computer. The default name of this file is VSOFT.FDB. If you are not sure where this file is located, click here to learn how you can find it
2. Once it’s done, click here to download and install the latest version of Tool & Asset Manager on your new computer.
3. Now that you have Tool & Asset Manager installed on your new computer, you have to replace the demo database file with your own database copy you made at step 1. The default folder for the database file is “C:\ProgramData\VinitySoft Data” so just copy/paste your database file to this folder.
4. Finally, you will have to send us your new identification code so we will be able to send you the corresponding activation code. See the following picture for an example of an identification code

How to replace the database server computer

2. Now, click here to download the network setup procedure and carefully follow the instructions.
3. Now that you have Tool & Asset Manager installed on your new database server computer, you have to replace the demo database file with your own database copy you made at step 1. The default folder for the database file is “C:\ProgramData\VinitySoft Data” so just copy/paste your database file to this folder.
4. Finally, you will have to send us your new identification code so we will be able to send you the corresponding activation code. See the following picture for an example of an identification code
To replace a client computer
1. Click here to download and install the latest version of Tool & Asset Manager on your new computer.
2. Configure your connection to the database using button “Configuration – Database connection”. To know which settings to type in both fields (database server name and path of the database file on the server), just log on any computer using Tool & Asset Manager on your network and click on button “Configuration – Database connection” to show the connection settings to the database on your network.
